CEO talks bones with Retail Pharmacy Magazine

This month Retail Pharmacy Magazine features an article on the prevalence of osteoporosis in Australia, featuring Osteoporosis Australia CEO Gail Morgan.

Osteoporosis currently affects over 1 million Australians with a further six million having poor bone health.

The article highlights the importance of calcium, vitamin D and exercise to bone health.

As Australia's population ages, the incidence of osteoporosis will increase "without serious intervention, it is estimated that by 2022, the incidence of osteoporosis will increase by 31 per cent" says Gail Morgan.

Pharmacists have an important role to play in talking with customers about their health and providing advice about bone health.
