PhD Scholarship
A community-based program to optimize bone health and function
Department of Medicine, The University of Melbourne, Western Hospital, Footscray, Victoria
A full-time PhD scholarship is immediately available within the Department of Medicine at the University of Melbourne, Western Health, Footsray under the supervision of Associate Professor Robin Daly and Professor Peter Ebeling. The candidate will work with a collaborative team on a major project that will examine the effectiveness of a community-based exercise and osteoporosis education program for optimizing musculoskeletal health and function in community dwelling older adults.
This opportunity provides an excellent mix of academic and professional development, and the successful applicant would be well placed at the completion of the PhD to choose a career path in either an academic or professional arena. The applicant must have a first class Honours degree or equivalent in physiotherapy, exercise physiology or health-related sciences and be able to commence mid 2008.
Stipend $23,000 p.a. for 3 years.
