About the Research Fund

Mission and Objectives:

The research fund is a joint initiative between Osteoporosis Australia (OA) and the Australian and New Zealand Bone and

Mineral Society (ANZBMS).


Mission:

To reduce the burden of osteoporotic fractures by funding and promoting excellence and integration of all levels of Australasian bone research, spanning basic science to public health approaches.

Objectives:

To support research that will:

  • Help reduce the burden of osteoporotic fractures and other bone and mineral disorders
  • Lead to improved quality of life and excellence in clinical care of people with osteoporosis and fractures
  • Foster bone research from young investigators
  • To support research grants in:
  • Broad areasĀ and cross-disciplinesĀ in the areas of science, clinical stidies, public health, allied health, clinical medicine, non-medical, epidemiology and education.
  • Various others such as grants-in-aid, fellowships, scholarships, general and partnership grants on a peer-reviewed basis

Amgen GSK announce the OA-ANZBMS Clinical Grants Programs

Amgen Australia and GSK Australia are proud to announce the launch of the OA-ANZBMS Clinical Grants Program. This program is designed to fund projects which will support the quality use of medicines in the treatment of osteoporosis or advance the diagnosis or management of patients with osteoporosis. Applications are open until 1 February 2012.
