Amgen Australia and GSK Australia are proud to announce the third year of the Osteoporosis Australia-ANZBMS Clinical Grants Program.

This program has been established to support projects that

• Evaluate the quality use of medicines in the treatment of osteoporosis; or

• Advance the diagnosis or management of patients with osteoporosis.

RACGP/Osteoporosis Australia Bone Health Research Grant 2014

General practitioners and the primary care team plays a key role in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. The RACGP/Osteoporosis Australia Bone Health Research Grant is proudly sponsored by the RACGP and Osteoporosis Australia. The funding supports research that will help to reduce the burden of osteoporotic fractures as well as research that will lead to improved quality of life and excellence in clinical care of people with osteoporosis and fractures.

Award Details

An individual grant of up to $30,000 (excluding GST) will be offered for a period of one year to fund projects to improve bone health for all Australians through the provision of research funding to general practitioner researchers for: the creation of educational tools to influence and assist primary care providers to improve osteoporosis management; and/or for the promotion of bone health amongst the Australian community.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the RACGP/Osteoporosis Australia Bone Health Research Grant, the principal investigator must be:

  • a general practitioner or general practice registrar; and
  • a member of the RACGP.
