On World Osteoporosis Day, October 20, we encouraged
all Australians to….

Health and exercise experts, government representatives and consumer groups met in Sydney on October 20 – World Osteoporosis Day – to set clear recommendations on calcium, vitamin D and exercise required to prevent brittle bones. These outcomes will be published at a later date, so watch this place!



We also particpated in an Unbreakable Embrace...
We invited people around Australia to get online and be part of this exciting international awareness event for World Osteoporosis Day. The ‘Unbreakable Embrace’ connected people from around the globe, via Facebook, to show together we can beat fractures. We were lucky enough to have OA Patron Sky Business News presenter Helen Dalley and Sydney Swans Player Jude Bolton join us. See below for some of the photos we took!



GPCE 2011
Osteoporosis Australia recently attended the 2011 GPCE Conference in Melbourne in order to raise awareness about osteoporosis with GPs. This was an enormous success, with many practioners visiting our stall and taking our updated information. Osteoporosis Australia Medical Director Professor Peter Ebeling also ran a seminar about building healthy bones throughut life.

Garvan Seminar
An osteoporosis seminar was hosted at The Garvan Insititute on Sunday the 27th of November. It was opended by Governer-General Miss Quentin Brice and involved presentations by leading bone experts and Osteoporosis Australia CEO Shelley Evans.
