National Healthy Bones Week Aug 2-9 2009 QLD events

National Healthy Bones Week National Healthy Bones Week is a joint initiative between Osteoporosis Australia and Dairy Australia, highlighting the important role of calcium in the development and maintenance of healthy bones (and the prevention of osteoporosis).
This year it will run during August 2-8 2009.

During National Healthy Bones Week, Osteoporosis Queensland will be running a number of events in Ipswich, Chermside, Robina, Toowoomba and Redcliffe.
Each event runs from 10:00am-12:15pm and will feature two guest speakers. Entry is $10 per person; bookings are essential. FreeCall 1800 242 141 to book.

Osteoporosis ACT


Canberra's Big Healthy Bones Morning Tea 2009

To celebrate Healthy Bones Week 2009, all ACT Primary and High schools have been invited to participate in Canberra’s Big Healthy Bones Morning Tea.

The aim of the morning tea is to raise awareness of the importance of building strong and healthy bones as a means of preventing osteoporosis.
Milk, cheese, yoghurt and fruit are being donated by local suppliers for delivery to each participating school.

The launch of Canberra's Big Healthy Bones Morning Tea will be held at St Judes Primary School on 5 August.
Games and activities for the children will follow the opening addresses. Athletes from the Canberra Capitals basketball team will also be on hand.

Healthy Bones Group in SE Melbourne Suburbs

This Group has been established for four years and the aim is to share information among group members and experts in this field, and of course, to support one another.

Join us for discussion, guest speakers and light refreshments followed by lunch.

We meet every 3rd Wednesday of every 2nd month - February, April, June, August, October and December.
