When a family member or friend dies, it's a time of mourning and loss. It can also be an opportunity to remember them, and honour their memory with a contribution to the future health of those who remain.
A Memorial Donation to Osteoporosis Australia is a way to remember someone, and at the same time to contribute to medical research that will help to reduce the incidence of osteoporosis in the Australian community.
When a Memorial Donation is made to Osteoporosis Australia, we can provide the family of the loved one with the following:
Letter expressing condolences and appreciation: The next of kin or nearest family member of the person who has died is sent a letter which includes special thanks to the names of all those who have kindly made memorial donations (the dollar amount is not mentioned). A certificate of appreciation is sent to the family, in memory of their relative.
Receipts for all: Everyone who has made a memorial donation is sent a letter of thanks and receipt, which can be used for tax purposes, if required.
Donation envelopes: Funeral Directors may have a supply of memorial envelopes, or have another collection facility available for when memorial donations are requested by the family at a funeral. If not, they can contact us here directly at Osteoporosis Australia to obtain suitable envelopes.
